Jones, Sam Jones, and Tom "Satch" Sanders shouldered the burden of advancing civil rights while competing before a fan base that too often celebrated their talent without honoring their humanity. 
These men refused to leave their influence on the parquet. They passed their legacy to community leaders like Robert Parish, Dee Brown, Reggie Lewis, Paul Pierce, Marcus Smart, and Jaylen Brown, who carried the torch by uplifting, advocating for, and investing in Boston's Black community. Their impact extended far beyond wins and championships. Through mentorship, philanthropy, activism, and neighborhood engagement, they affirmed a simple but powerful truth: Boston basketball belongs to all of Boston.
